Happy-Go-Lucky is one of the most extraordinary movies I’ve seen this year. I want to do a longer review but I fear I will not have time. I have often heard from writers that it is easier to write a compelling bad guy than a good character with real depth. This movie has the latter, and you won’t be able to get her out of your head. 1. Are Christians supposed to be happy like Poppy?
2. Poppy is accused of not acting like a grown-up. Consider that and the altercation at her sister’s house. What do the characters mean by growning up? Is it a good thing or a bad thing?
3. In the final scene Scott accuses Poppy of being selfish. Is she?
4. What does the scene with the homeless man mean?
